This cyber crime bill of Pakistan is not all about hacking, spamming or restriction on hate speech but it is beyond that. Still most of people who use internet are not aware about this bill while those who are aware with this do not know exactly the punishment of specific crime.

Recently, according to news, there are several individuals has been arrest in Pakistan for breaching these laws. So, it is very important to get yourself informed with the laws of cyber crimes and their punishment. Following I am sharing the list of those cyber crimes law which are already in practice and stealing any of them could cause of huge fine and jail in prison etc.

Up to 3 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 1 Million in Fine or both for Spreading False Information about an Individual

Example: Sharing wrong information on internet including social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, website, blog and online forum about a person which damaged the reparation of person and not true.



Up to 5 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 5 Million in Fine or both for Making / Spreading Explicit Images or Videos of an Individual

Example: This includes Photoshop of an image in which you have places someone face on nude body, making of nude video or image of a person, posting explicit images and video of individual and using these content to blackmail individual.

Up to 7 Years in Prison or up to Rs. 5 Million in Fine or both for Making / Spreading Explicit Images or Videos of Minor

Example: Photoshop the face of a child on nude body, making sexually explicit videos, posting these content on internet and using these content to blackmail a minor.

Up to 7 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 5 Million in Fine or both for Child pornography


Up to 3 Years in Jail or Up to Rs. 1 Million in Fine or both for Cyber stalking

Example: This includes repeatedly call someone and repeatedly sending emails while the other party asks you not to etc.

Up to 3 Years in Jail or Up to Rs. 1 Million in Fine or both for Hacking Email and phone for Stalking

Example: Secretly hacking someone's email account and monitor their email account.

Up to 3 Years in Jail or Up to Rs. 1 Million in Fine or both for Making Videos/Pictures and Distributing without Consent

Example: Taking someone photo/video without their permission and distribute online to damage their privacy etc.

Up to 5 Years in Jail and Up to Rs. 10 Million in Fine for Cyber Stalking with a Minor

Example: Blackmailing, spying, sending emails for the purpose of harassment, taking photos and making videos of minors to disturbed them etc.

Up to 7 Years in Prison or fine or both for Hate speech

Example: Posting stuff on social media and creating blogs and website which can trigger inter-faith or sectarian avoidance etc.

Three Months of Prison or Fine Up to Rs. 5 Million or Both for Spamming

Example: This includes all kind of electronic spamming like email spamming, SMS spamming and sending illegal, misleading and harmful email/SMS etc.

Up to 3 Years in Jail or Fine Up to Rs. 500,00 or both fir Spoofing

Example: Spoofing means spreading and creating hoax about a person or organization and making parody etc.

Up to 2 Years in Jail or Up to Rs. 1 Million in Fine or Both for Malicious Code

Example: Writing a virus, code which destruct hard drive, develop a mobile application to spy someone and spread viruses.

Up to 3 Months Prison or Up to Rs. 50,000 Fine or both for Unauthorized Access to Information System or Data

Example: Accessing someone information system and data without their intention or permission.

Up to 6 Months Prison or Up to Rs. 100,000 Fine or both fir Unauthorized copying or transmission of Data

Example: This includes copying data from someone else flash drive, get access of someone phone, copy mobile numbers from someone mobile phone, hacking of website and copy data etc.

Up to 2 Years Prison or Up to Rs. 500,000 Fine or both for Interference with information system or data

Example: Hacking of NADRA’s database, government of Pakistan’s website, Pakistan Stock Exchange and Pakistan Army’s servers

Up to 5 Years Prison or Up to Rs. 5 Million Fine or both for Unauthorized copying or transmission of critical infrastructure data

Example: This includes hacking and copying of Pakistan Army’s servers data, NADRA’s database, government of Pakistan’s website database, access to Pakistan Stock Exchange and steal their records

Up to 7 Years Prison or Up to Rs. 10 Million Fine or both for Interference with critical infrastructure information system or data

Example: This includes hacking of NADRA’s database, intercept a fiber optic cable, government of Pakistan’s website, Pakistan Stock Exchange and Pakistan Army’s servers.

Up to 7 Years Prison or Up to Rs. 10 Million Fine or both for Glorification of an offence

Example: Posting something on internet which appreciate, praising and show sympathy for terrorists. Encourage people to commit terrorist activates etc.

Up to 7 Years in Prison or fine or both for Online Recruitment, Funding of Terrorism

Example: This includes running Facebook group, page or profile to encourage people to join, plan or fund terrorists e.g., TTP

Up to 3 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 250,000 fine or both for Electronic forgery

Example: Electronically change in contract, invoice and agreement to get legal benefit.

Up to 7 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 5 Million fine or both for Electronic forgery of Critical Infrastructure

Example: Electronically change in contract which causes loss to a company and organization.

Up to 2 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 10 Million fine or both for Electronic fraud

Example: Damaging someone in terms of finance including someone with intents to cause financial damage etc.

Up to six months in Prison or Up to Rs. 50,000 fine or both for Making, obtaining, or supplying device for use in offence

Example: Writing a hacking software, code to steal someone data and creating phishing pages etc.

Up to 3 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 5 Million fine or both for Unauthorized use of identity information

Example: This includes the selling of SIM card without verification of data and also you has given your SIM to someone for temporary use.

Up to 3 Years in Prison or Up to Rs. 500,000 in fine or both for Unauthorized issuance of SIM cards etc
